The Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Paradox in the Brain: The Transferred Potential
نویسنده
چکیده
Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) correlations between human brains are studied to verify i f the brain has a macroscopic quantum component. Pairs of subjects were allowed to interact and were then separated inside semisilent Faraday chambers 14.5 m apart when their EEG activity was registered. Only one subject of each pair was stimulated by lOO flashes. When the stimulated subject showed distinct evoked potentials, the nonstimulated subject showed "transferred potentials" similar to those evoked in the stimulated subject. Control subjects showed no such transferred potentials. The transferred potentials demonstrate brain-to-brain nonlocal EPR correlation between brains, supporting the brain's quantum nature at the macrolevel.

Steering, entanglement, nonlocality, and the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox.
The concept of steering was introduced by Schrödinger in 1935 as a generalization of the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox for arbitrary pure bipartite entangled states and arbitrary measurements by one party. Until now, it has never been rigorously defined, so it has not been known (for example) what mixed states are steerable (that is, can be used to exhibit steering). We provide an operational...
متن کاملEinstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox and measurement of quantum system
Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) paradox is considered in a relation to a measurement of an arbitrary quantum system . It is shown that the EPR paradox always appears in a gedanken experiment with two successively joined measuring devices. PACS number(s): 03.65 Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox is a classical topic in quantum mechanics(for elementary review see [1]). Here we show how the EPR paradox...
متن کاملEntanglement and the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox with coupled intracavity optical down-converters
We show that two evanescently coupled xs2d parametric down-converters inside a Fabry-Perot cavity provide a tunable source of quadrature squeezed light, Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen sEPRd correlations and quantum entanglement. Analyzing the operation in the below threshold regime, we show how these properties can be controlled by adjusting the coupling strengths and the cavity detunings. As this can...
متن کاملContinuous variable tripartite entanglement and Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen correlations from triple nonlinearities
We compare theoretically the tripartite entanglement available from the use of three concurrent χ(2) nonlinearities and three independent squeezed states mixed on beamsplitters, using an appropriate version of the van Loock– Furusawa inequalities. We also define three-mode generalizations of the Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen paradox which are an alternative for demonstrating the inseparability of the...
متن کاملEinstein-Podolsky-Rosen entanglement strategies in two-well Bose-Einstein condensates.
Criteria suitable for measuring entanglement between two different potential wells in a Bose-Einstein condensation are evaluated. We show how to generate the required entanglement, utilizing either an adiabatic two-mode or a dynamic four-mode interaction strategy, with techniques that take advantage of s-wave scattering interactions to provide the nonlinear coupling. The dynamic entanglement me...
